A Mom, Artist & Creative
Born, raised and went to art school in Texas and only moved to the Chicago area in 2023. That’s when I started to reevaluate how I understand what the word community means.
I've been an artist all my life but never focused on any one particular form of art until about a year and a half ago when my 12 year old started biting and picking at her nails. Being a recovering nail-biter myself, I wanted to help her nervous habits in any way I could so we started a gel nail journey together.
Gel nail polish thickens the nail enough that it’s not as satisfying to pick or chew and consistent manicures allowed me to check in with her once every week or two. Our journey continues but has recently evolved through interested friends and family members and through structured gel manicures.
Consider me “focused”.
As a mother of three, my personal nail education started slow, but with the recent change in schedule that came with my youngest starting preschool, things have escalated and I’m now offering services like Gel Extensions and custom nail art.
I work nonstop to guide my kids through childhood and into early adulthood by offering them an example they can look up to while still maintaining my autonomy and showing interest in my own endeavors.
They’re growing up knowing that their parents don’t have to sacrifice their identity.
I wasn’t able to take the time to get myself a manicure every once in a while, so I found that personal self care on my own, at home. Now that my youngest is in preschool, it is my absolute pleasure to offer other parents a place to relax for an hour or two every couple of weeks, even if they don’t have a babysitter on-hand.
